Are You Making These 4 Common Mistakes With Your Electronic Communication?

In our 24/7 wired world, it may be easy to convince yourself that you should focus exclusively on using electronic media for your health and wellness messages. Yes, emails, texts, apps, websites, and social networks can be effective for getting the word out. However, be sure you’ve thought through how you will use electronic media before you spend all your time clicking and sending.

Here are the 4 most common electronic health and wellness communication mistakes that many wellness communicators make:

1. Using electronic media exclusively (or primarily) to communicate to an audience and abandoning other proven efforts such as print and word of mouth.

2. Overthinking technology and needlessly using expensive apps and other high-dollar ways to deliver wellness content to an audience when cheaper, just-as-effective options are available.

3. Not having a firm understanding of how people read/view/use electronic materials. And not creating communication “experiences” that grab people’s attentions and keep individuals engaged.

4. Not emphasizing quality content and design in electronic communications, and not developing an effective frequency formula for when and where to reach out to an audience so messages are effective without being over-the-top.

How does your organization do in these areas? If you’re guilty of committing these four mistakes, take some time to reevaluate – and likely readjust – your use of electronic and print media. Find out more in this free report:
